Benefits of Learning the Life History of the Prophet Muhammad

KAUMMUSLIM.COM - Allâh 'Azza wa Jalla had chosen the last prophet & dropped His choice in the person of Muhammad bin 'Abdillâh sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam . He received a great deal of privileges according to Allâh 'Azza wa Jalla which no one else had, as Muslims also had privileges that were not present in the previous faith. In Shahîh Muslim, Rasûlullâh shallâllahu 'alaihi wasallam says:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى كِنَانَةَ مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَعِيلَ وَاصْطَفَى قُرَيْشًا مِنْ كِنَانَةَ وَاصْطَفَى مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَاصْطَفَانِي مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ

"Indeed, Allâh determined kinânah from the descendants of (Prophet) Ismail. And chose the tribe of Quraysh from the (nation of) Kinânah. Then determine bani Hâsyim based on the tribe of Quraysh and determine myself from Bani Hâsyim" (HR Muslim no. 4221).

Through this glorious hadith, it can be known that Rasûlullâh shallâllahu 'alaihi wasallam is the main one based on the whole quintessence of goodness through the review of the glory of the nasab, as in him shallâllahu 'alaihi wasallam jua there is still the main according to the quintessence of primacy & the height of degrees on the side of Allâh 'Azza wa Jalla ( Min Akhlâqir Rasûl, Shaikh 'Abdul Muhsin al-'Abbad).

Benefits of dirasah (studying) Siroh Nabawi

Studying the Siroh (biological history) of prophet Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam is useful as a nutrient for the heart & a source of cheerfulness for the soul as well as a conditioner for the eyes. In fact, it is part of allah ta'ala's belief and worship to draw closer to him. For, the life of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam laden is a life of high motion, perseverance, patience, tenacity, full of hope, far from pessimism on realizing ubudiyah (self-servitude) to Allah Ta'ala and indicting His religious teachings.The benefits of examining the Nabawi Sirah are summed up in the following points:

Know the best example for all people in aqidah, worship and morals. Allah Ta'ala said:
"Indeed, it is in (the) Messenger of Allah that it is a good example for you (that is) for the one who hopes for (the mercy) of Allah and (the coming) of the doomsday and he mentions Allah a lot". (QS. Al-Ahzab/33:21).
And the business of modeling the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam is unable to escape from knowing his biological history & clues.

Siroh Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam became the mizan (scale) of the charity of human deeds. On this, Imam Sufyan Ibn 'Uyainah rahimahullah revealed, "Verily the Messenger of Allaah sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam is the most core scale. Thus, all things are weighed using morals, siroh & instructions he. What is appropriate, then that is the right one, and the opposite of it, then that is the truth". (Narrated al-Khathib al-Baghdadi in muqaddimah book al-Jami li Akhlaqir Rawi wa Adabi as-Sami').

Studying the Siroh of the Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam helps in knowing Kitabullah, because the life of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam is a concrete practice of the Qur'an. This is based on the news of Ummul Mukminin 'Aisyah radhiyallahu 'anha when asked about his morals, "His morals are the Qur'an". And what is meant by morals here is the practice of his beliefs, he has already worked on the instructions of the Qur'an using plenary, in terms of commandments and prohibitions and adab-adab of the Qur'an.

Studying siroh nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam strengthens a Muslim's love for prophet Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. His instillation of love and strengthening in the heart of a Muslim requires him to examine siroh Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, so that his love may be more fertile in his heart towards this noble figure. And furthermore, that love will push him towards every good and ittiba' to him.

Studying siroh nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam is the door to the improvement of the faith.

Studying siroh Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam helps make it easier to know Islam uses both in aspects of aqidah, worship &akhlak. And history has recorded that he started proselytizing using tawhid & restoration of aqidah & emphasized in the matter.

Siroh Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam outlined manhaj (methodology) in proselytizing over bashirah (science). And a true dai is a person who masters his instructions, steps and life history. Allah Ta'ala said: "Say: "This is my (religious) way, I and those who follow me invite (you) to Allah using real hujjah" (QS. Joseph/12:108)

Siroh Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam himself is already a proof of the truth of nubuwwah &apostolic him.

Studying Siroh Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam is the door of blessings to the gate of happiness. Even a man's happiness depends in the extent to which he knows the instructions of the Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. For there is no way to happiness for a servant in the world and in the hereafter except by the instructions of the apostles.

Siroh Nabi sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam showed that his conduite & biological history sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam is a way of life for every Muslim who hopes for goodness & noble life in the global & hereafter. The Islamic generation will experience a decline if some of them are more familiar with the biological history of people who do not deserve to be exemplary.

Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah said, "Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala hangs global happiness & afterlife in ittiba to him, & makes woe in the world and the hereafter is caused against him". (Zadul Ma'ad fi Hadyi Khairil 'Ibad 1/36).

Ibnul Qayyim rahimahullah also classified the behavior of people towards the biological history of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam into 3 groups: mustaktsir (many know), muqill (less concerned), mahrum (far from him).

The three kinds of human beings mentioned by Ibnul Qayyim automatically become a reality that exists in the midst of the people.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ إِيْمَانًا لَا يَرْتَدُّ وَنَعِيْمًا لَا يَنْفَدُ وَمُرَافَقَةَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيْ أَعْلَى جَنَّةِ الْخُلْدِ.

"O Allah, verily I beseech thee the faith which will never be loose, the pleasures that never run out and accompany Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam to the highest Heaven of Khuld". (HR. Ahmad and others. Al-Albani considers this hadith to be hasan. Ash-Shahihah no.2301).
