Religion & Belief around the Arabian Peninsula

KAUMMUSLIM.COM - The history of the past, especially the 5th and 6th centuries AD, the world lived in haunted darkness. Although the community felt the need for trust , but belief at that time was really far from the value of truth. Religion, which was supposed to give birth to guidance, comfort and harmony, actually turned around; as a result of which the one born according to religionwhen it is anxiety, misguidance and hostility.

1. In the 5th & 6th centuries AD, the Jewish beliefs brought by the Prophet Moses Alaihi Salam had become a very rigid teaching. It has become a tradition without spirit. The book of "Torah" has undergone various changes. Besides the torah, they also have the Talmud which they sanctify beyond the torah.

Whereas in this Talmud, which has been spread since the 6th century AD, there are still so many poly news that really cannot be digested logic. Beliefs about the oneness of God taught by the Prophet Moses AS, faded due to the influence of culture and customary norms of the surrounding people.

The Jewish religious leaders did not carry out the duties of guidance of the ruhani. The Jews were wrecked inmaterialism, so they became loan sharks and justified bribery.

2.The Christian teachings brought by the Prophet Isa AS are teachings that recognize the oneness of Allah Almighty, emphasizing the side of godliness and noble morals. However, such a sublime teaching gradually diverged.

The culmination according to the misguidance was the conversion of the oneness of God, which the Prophet Isa Alaihi Salam taught, to become a religion about the Trinity. The issue of the Trinity only arose after four hundred years of birth-Masih, therefore the belief of the Trinity is not mentioned in the four Gospelswhich are recognized by Christians, because the books were written long before the emergence of the Trinity among Christians. The Gospels were written 70-150 years after the birth of al-Masih.

3. The Persian population adhered to the Magi(Zoroastrian) religion which worshipped the material elements of the universe. They scramble and purify the sun. They believe that there are 2 divines.

First, the god of light, that is, who creates goodness & always means good. It records the name ahura Mazda (in the latest Iranian designation: Ormudz / the god who is wise).

Second, the divine evil or ugliness they callAngra Mainyu (in the latest Iranian designation: Ahriman). The two gods are always in a relationship. Once this is the one that wins, & once that one. The inhabitants of Persia at the time built dwellings -dwellings of worship to worship the barah, but outside the place of worship, they dated control and sorted out the passions. While scholars agree that the above religion was created by Zoroastrian (628-551 BC).

4. In India emerged Brahmanism, which is a complex religion &social system that grew out of the ritespolitestis of the ancient Aryans who conquered the northern part of India and Iran. This religion spread throughout the territory of the Indian subcontinent, and is sustainable without changing significantly until today.

In India also arose Hinduism (Sanskrit: SanatanaDharma / Eternal Truth and Vaidica-Dharma / Knowledge of Truth) which was a continuation based on vedic religion (Brahmanism) which is thought to have appeared between 3102-1300 BC.

This religion teaches that there are many divines who play a role in people's lives, but the supreme divine is theRahma that is the source of all that exists and who manifests it to man in various forms. 5th

In India, Japan, Nepal, Tibet, China and some other regions of Asia, Buddhism is widely circulated. Buddhism was taught by Sidhartha Gautama who was born in Lumbini (Nepal at this time). He was a prince of the Sakya tribe, born in 563 BC and died in Kusinara (currently called Kushinagar, India) at the age of 80 (483 BC).

Buddha did not teach about the form of a god, but the admiration of his followers for this personality resulted in them making statues of him which they took with them wherever they came home. In addition, they also created buildings to make it happen. While scholars state that in the beginning this belief denied the form of a god, but over time -over time they ultedbudha (Sidhartha Gautama) - placing him as a human being who was not similar to other people, because of the achievement and perfection of his spirit.

This resulted in people suspecting that Buddha was a god, and because of the cultivation of it - the making of Buddha statues so that its adherents were likened to pagans.

6. Religion & Belief in the Arabian Peninsula

It should be underlined that the Qur'an hints at the existence of prophets & apostles sent to this area. For example, Prophet Hud Alaihi Salam who was sent to the 'Ad people who settled in al-Ahqaf, a region in Hadhramaut, Yemen.

Prophet Shalih Alaihi Salam was sent to the Tsamudyangs who settled in Hijir, an area between Hijaz & Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.Similarly, the U.S. Prophet Syu'aib was sent to Madyan, an area bordering the Levant. Particularly popular was the Prophet Isma'il Alaihi Salam, the son of The ProphetIbrahim AS, who settled in Mecca with his mother, Hajar.

Prophet Ibrahim ASsendiri came to talk about the teachings of tawhid & spread in the midst of his society; then continued by his sons, among them NabiIsma'il AS & Nabi Ishaq AS.

7th. The Jahiliyah people generally believe in Allah Almighty, as taught by prophet Ibrahim AS. However, on a time-to-time basis, little by little the teachings shifted and faded or were understood, as a result of which although the Arabs glorified the Prophet Ibrahim AS as an ancestor & bearer of the teachings, but the core of his teachings was reduced.

Indeed, they still still acknowledge the form of Allah Almighty and that He is the Creator of alamraya, but it is not the same as what the Prophet Ibrahim AS taught in his substantion and in his details.

8. Pre-Islamic Arab political conditions at that time were controlled by two empires, namely Persia and Abraham. Each empire had a culture, a bandage, legislation and beliefs that they believed in.

9. The Empire adhered to the Zoroastrian religion (Majusi) which believed in the existence of two gods, namely the god of goodness & the god of bad. The God of goodness (light) builds good things in this world –e.g. useful animals–, while the god of ugliness (darkness) builds ugly things in this world –e.g. animals–.

They also believe that humans will live 2 lives, namely life in the world and life after death. Moreover, they believethat the world will approach the end when the god of goodness can defeat the god of bad. Therefore, the Zoroastrians caused the barah to become a symbol of god, so they lit the barah at their places of worship.

10. On the other hand, the Roman empire set its culture ahead of Greek and Roman philosophy. They inherited the thoughts of Socrates, Plato andAristoteles. Ancient Greek and Roman philosophy was used by Christians to argue, especially regarding the Trinity.

11. TheArab people themselves live mostly nomadic lives in the desert. They were bound by tribal rules and had a habit of being inflicted with their ancestors. Their economy is based on agriculture & trade. Therefore, they drafted a law on property transactions & trades.

Meanwhile, in terms of beliefs, they were influenced by the beliefs held by the Persian empire as well as the Romans.Pre-Islamic Arab beliefs became increasingly complex with the presence of Jews inhabiting areas such as Khaibar and Yatsrib. Thus the Arabs of pre-Islam still leave the followers of the millah of Prophet Ibrahim AS & NabiIsmaʻil Alaihi Salam.

12. Moreover, a quarter of the Arabian Peninsula at that time was filled with various kinds of rituals. When the Messenger of Allah SAW was sent, he faced the problem of the number of idols that were destroyed in more or less the Kaaba of the Arabs.

They worshipped & prostrated themselves to those idols. It is in this context that Tasyrîʻ in Makkah is intended to cleanse the Arabian Peninsula based on idolatry. Another problempiritual that plagues the Makkah musyrikins is that their reasoning cannot reach the teachings of Islam which believe that the bodies that have been penetrated (globally dead) can be revived in the day of awakening. 13th
